CONTRAPHOS concentrate safely removes phosphates from marine and fresh water aquaria. Accumulation of phosphate in marine and fresh water tanks can cause growth of trouble some algae and inhibition of lime synthesis in certain specialized organisms, such as red coralline algae, stony corals and other calcifying organism.
Due to chemisorption, CONTRAPHOS concentrate binds the phosphate and does not release it into the water when the absorbency of the product diminishes. The chemically-bound phosphate (PO4) will be removed entirely by withdrawing the granules in the filter bag from the circuit.
1000g CONTRAPHOS concentrate can bind up to 25000 mg phosphate.
Directions: Put the CONTRAPHOS concentrate granules in a filter bag and add it to the mechanical and biological filtration circuit. CONTRAPHOS concentrate may or may not be used in a by-pass mode.
Caution: Avoid contact with fabric or clothes, stains are difficult to remove.
Keep container closed and out of reach of children.
